Question: Does my baby need to wear shoes?
Answer: Before your baby is mobile, they will not be needing much footwear. At home, it is best for them to move around barefoot. this will promote their development in several ways, including muscular and sensory development. When going out, babies’ feet get cold fast as they generally have poorer circulation than adults. As a result, soft shoes such as booties can be attractive and practical. Hard-soled shoes are not recommended until babies are mobile (at least 12 months usually). This is because these can prevent the proper development of their muscles.
