Question: How can I keep my baby comfortable in summer?
Answer: Try to keep babies under six months old out of direct sunlight. Babies of all ages also need to be kept out of direct sunlight as much as possible. On hot days, babies may need fifty percent more hydration than usual, so you’ll need to have more water prepared, and plan for extra feeds. Don’t overdress your baby as babies can quickly overheat. Simple cotton clothes such as short-sleeve bodysuits or even just a nappy can suffice on hot days, and pay particular attention to your baby’s temperature while they are sleeping. Ensure that your baby’s bedroom remains cool overnight, not exceeding 20°C, you may need to check this with a thermometer.
